</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>Hernandez played through the injury for a handful of snaps before departing Sunday, so it's entirely possible he'll end up missing only one game. New England's co-TE1 has already been targeted 18 times. Rob Gronkowski, who has drawn 13 targets of his own and scored three TDs, could be fantasy's No. 1 overall tight end while his teammate is sidelined. The Pats visit the Bills in Week 3.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>Hernandez declined to talk about his injury, but beat reporters are saying that he looks to be moving pretty well. The Boston Globe hasn't budged off their 1-2 week timetable on Hernandez even though CSN New England reported a 4-6 week outlook. The Patriots, of course, won't reveal anything. All owners can do is keep Hernandez stashed on their bench. The good news is that he wasn't using crutches or a brace Thursday.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>Hernandez told reporters early Wednesday that he's shooting to play Sunday against Oakland, but the Pats don't use players that don't practice. It appears Hernandez has not yet been medically cleared to take the field. Regardless, the optimism suggests Hernandez will return sooner rather than later.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>Greg Bedard of the Boston Globe suggests that Hernandez may not have looked good warming up for the practice, necessitating the decision to hold him out of team drills. He may try again tomorrow. Like Hernandez, Woodhead's status is uncertain for Week 5. Woodhead left last week's game with a left ankle injury, allowing for rookie Stevan Ridley's breakout performance.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>The Boston Herald's Ian Rapoport suspects the Pats held out Hernandez and DTs Albert Haynesworth and Mike Wright Wednesday while waiting for Thursday's padded practice. If that is indeed the case, then Hernandez is on track to play against the Jets this week. He averaged 4.5 catches and 76 yards against Rex Ryan's defense in two regular-season games last year, but will be a risky fantasy play coming off the injury.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>It's a good sign that Hernandez bounced back from playing 65 snaps against the Jets and was able to practice at all on Wednesday. He should be all systems go against the Cowboys, who will struggle to slow New England's tight end duo.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>Hernandez said earlier on Thursday that he feels "healthy and ready to go," so he should be expected to suit up against the Cowboys even if he's limited again on Friday. He's Rotoworld's No. 8 ranked tight end for Week 6.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>Hernandez missed time earlier this season with a sprained MCL, but there was no indication that he aggravated the injury in Sunday's loss to the Steelers. We would anticipate Hernandez playing against the Giants this weekend.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>There has been nothing to suggest Hernandez will sit out against the Giants, and he should be considered likely to play even if he's listed as questionable on Friday's injury report. He's Rotoworld's sixth ranked tight end for Week 9.
